Teacher: Linda Spilling-Markey I was 6 years old when I began piano lessons and with the help of family and friends have enjoyed using my gift to play for church functions: retreats, conferences, services and children programs. My degree is in elementary education and business. I have taught for over 12 years in private school/home-school venues and have managed administrative/financial accounts for over 16 years. It has been an honor to lead worship for Women's Conferences through Amazing Love Ministries from 1991 through 2001. It has also been a pleasure to play with various church praise bands in New York: Harvest-Time Vineyard Christian Fellowship, Hurley Christian Assembly, in Palm Coast: United Methodist Church, and St Augustine: Homeport Christian Church. Teaching (especially music) has always been my passion. I have offered lessons for ages 4 through 15 since 1980.
Location Our music classes are located near Rymfire Elementary School; Palm Coast, Florida. Lessons are provided in my home studio in Palm Coast.
Philosophy My goal is for every student to enjoy playing the piano, learn to play well and know basic musical terms. Lessons are individually tailored for the student's interest and ability levels. Practicing is essential and each week the student receives an individualized practice schedule.
Teacher:Shirley Spilling-Duff I have also been studying and playing the piano since I was 6. Our parents were musical so we were immersed in singing, playingand learning from an early age. Our piano instructors were seasoned musicians and it was a wonderful experience to visit their home to learn more! Piano lessons are available for a variety of ages and ability levels.
Location -Our music classes are located near the Williams B Umstead State Park and Route 540 in Raleigh, North Carolina.Lessons are provided in my studio home in Raleigh. Philosophy -. My goal is to concentrate on building each student’s fundamental skills,while incorporating the most important reason for music --- enjoyment! I couple traditional theory with technical skill, artistic performance, sight reading,and a complete lesson course. I also create individual binders for each child, consisting of theory, technique and artistry, and various “fun-work” that relates to our current lesson of that day.
